| OBJECTIVE |
| Different problems on building environment and energy have gained global importance from the 1970’s energy crisis. Since the Kyoto Protocol has been signed in 1997, the efforts for diminishing greenhouse gases have been intensive all over the world. The area of the ‘Yellow Sea Rim’ has about 6 percent population of the world, about 3.5 percent GDP and about 8 percent trade sum of the world. This almost equals with EU or ASEAN. This area obviously has the possibility of large developments as an industrial cluster area and could take the lead of the world. However, these facts simultaneously may bring about situations in which problems on building environment and energy are grave. It is very significant to share information and technologies regarding these problems in the Yellow Sea Rim area. We therefore will hold, on a regular basis, international exchange meetings among the Yellow Sea Rim cities in China, Korea and Japan. We hope that these meetings results in fruitful activities, such as collaborative researches, in near future. |
